Paperwork will be obtained from your MORTGAGE HOLDER to pay off your current loan at closing. The Buyer's lender will send out an APPRAISER to look over the property and assess the reasonable value as a protection for the lender. The TITLE COMPANY will hold the Buyer's earnest money, provide title insurance, and usually conduct the closing.

In Texas all real estate Brokers and Salesmen must be properly educated, and they must be tested and licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission. "Brokers" are responsible for listings and transactions, and "salesmen" or "sales associates" work under brokers, usually as independent contractors.

"REALTOR" is a registered collective membership mark which may be used only by real estate professionals who are members of the National Association of Realtors and subscribe to its strict Code of Ethics. The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to protect the public. Being a Realtor is a voluntary responsibility. However, it is required in order to participate in the National and Austin Multiple Listing Services.
