The Barton Creek Community sits along the south bank of the crystal clear water of Barton Creek which sparkles down through the sage green valleys of the Texas Hill Country and finally drops into the Colorado River at Town Lake, right in the center of downtown Austin. The Hill Country is a place of white limestone cliffs hovering above quiet creeks and swimming holes, oak and cedar-covered rolling hills and numerous lakes, large and small.

This area was considered for designation as a national park in the 1930’s, but the politics of the time settled on the Big Bend area of southwest Texas instead. Today, thousands of acres of the beautiful Hill Country have been set aside by local governments and private contributors for preservation, recreation and appreciation for the gifts of nature. Many private tracts are also maintained in their natural state, including areas of the Barton Creek community.

The Barton Creek community currently has 16 different gated neighborhoods, each with its own kind of charm. Several have golf frontage homes.
